Murals on Tour Artists
Artists are invited to submit works for consideration to Murals on Tour, a traveling art exhibition that participates in the ongoing conversation about social inequity. LYR and Artsemble Underground will select four artists based on their submissions. Each artist will be provided with a $100 supply stipend, and paid $250 for their piece, made possible in part by a sponsorship from Fort Myers Mural Society. Murals on Tour opens December 20, 2021 and closes March 13, 2022. Each piece will be on display for three weeks at four different locations. Complete tour dates and venues to be announced.

Submission Guidelines —
The Murals on Tour project’s goals are to participate through the arts in an ongoing conversation about the challenges facing marginalized groups. Issues of social inequity should be the main focus of the submitted work. Works submitted should represent this theme. Selections for Murals on Tour will be made by a committee of community leaders that represent the communities LYR serves. Artists will be compensated $250 each for their work, and LYR will sponsor paint costs up to $100 per artist.
Each mural-sized canvas measures 72 inches in length by 48 inches in height. Every canvas has a ¼ inch grommet for hanging that is ¾ of an inch from each corner. Submissions should reflect the size and specifics of the canvas.
